Berry BBQ Sauce

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup blueberries or huckleberries
- 1 cup water
- 2 Tbsp ketchup
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
- 2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of salt
DIRECTIONS
- In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, bring the berries and water to a boil for 5 minutes. Mash the berries as they cook.
- Add the remaining ingredients and simmer over medium-low heat for another 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and use an immersion blender to create a smoother texture, or pass through a fine-mesh sieve.
- Serve with bison burgers!
