Buttered Peas

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups frozen peas
  • ½ cup yellow onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbs butter
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

DIRECTIONS

  • In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt the butter, then sautee the onion, sugar, and salt until the onion is softened, about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  • Add the peas and thyme and cook, stirring frequently, until the peas are heated through, about 5 minutes. 
  • Stir in the black pepper and serve hot!
