Caesar Salad

INGREDIENTS

Croutons:

  • 1 loaf day-old bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese

Dressing:

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

Salad:

  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS

Croutons:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • On a baking sheet, toss the croutons in the olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, until evenly coated.
  • Spread in a single layer and top with grated parmesan cheese.
  • Bake until golden and crisp, about 10 minutes.

Dressing:

  • In a small bowl, combine the garlic, mustard, lemon juice, worcestershire sauce, and red wine vinegar. Then slowly whisk in the olive oil until combined.
  • Stir in the salt and pepper.

Salad:

  • In a large serving bowl, toss the lettuce, parmesan cheese, and croutons with the dressing until evenly coated. Enjoy!
