Servings: 9
Total time: 1 hour
INGREDIENTS
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup butter, melted
- 1 ½ cups white sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3 eggs
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup pumpkin puree
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- ¾ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate, larger bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the batter until just combined.
- Divide the batter between two new bowls. In one, add the cocoa powder and chocolate chips. In the other, add the pumpkin puree, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
- In a greased 8×8 baking pan, spread half of the chocolate batter, then top with half of the pumpkin batter. Add the rest of both batters as large, random dollops, and gently swirl it all together with a butter knife.
- Bake until edges are crisp and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs attached, about 45 minutes.
- Allow to cool to room temperature, and don’t slice until ready to serve.
