Cheesy Corn

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Tbs salted butter
  • 4 tsp flour
  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 6 oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 4 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 5 cups (30 oz) whole kernel corn
  • 4 oz diced ham steak

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • In a large pan over medium heat, melt butter, then whisk in the flour and garlic powder and cook for 1 minute to make a roux.
  • Whisk in the milk and simmer until thickened and bubbly.
  • Add the cheddar and cream cheese, stirring until melted and fully incorporated into the sauce.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the corn and diced ham.
  • Pour everything into a square casserole dish and cover with foil.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until hot and bubbly.
