Texas Toast

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 loaf bakery white bread, cut into thick slices about 1” 
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅛ tsp pepper

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. 
  • In a small, microwave-safe bowl, microwave the butter for one minute, or until melted. 
  • Add the garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
  • With a pastry brush, spread the mixture on both sides of the bread slices and put them on a baking sheet.
  • Bake until the bottom is golden brown, about 7 minutes. Flip, top with combined cheese (optional), and bake for an additional 7 minutes, until bread is browned and cheese is melted.
  • Serve warm with smoked brisket!
